No shocker here:Justin Bieber was named to Forbes list of the most influential musicians under the age of 30. But can you guess who else made the cut?
Between the success of his new album, his world tour, and his entrepreneurial spirit — he’s invested in a number of startups — Bieber easily made the list. Other obvious selections include Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Adele, and Katy Perry.
Though there are five members in the band, the boys of One Direction were counted as a single unit, and also made the list. So too did Harry Styles‘ current girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
Less recognizable names who received the Forbes honor include Sam Tarantino and Josh Greenberg, founders of Grooveshark, Sara Winter, Director of Tour Marketing for AEG Live, and Alex White, Cofounder of The Next Big Sound. To be fair, those people aren’t actually artists. They’re just actively involved in the music industry. So don’t sweat if you had no clue who Sara Winter was.
Of the remaining musicians on the list, most don’t generate headlines like Bieber or Rihanna. But that doesn’t make them any less influential. Skrillex has helped bring dubstep to the mainstream, while Bruno Mars has racked up 13 Grammy nominations in the last
