I’m not referring to occasional complaints about deadlines or a smelly coworker. I mean complaining about work to whoever will listen. You might even have coworkers who partake in the complaining, but it’s not healthy. We all have things we like and dislike about work but when you find yourself constantly complaining about it, it could be one of the signs it’s time to your job.
2. Your Appearance Has Changed
If you’ve gained or lost a significant amount of weight, wake up withor bags under your eyes or just don’t care about your appearance anymore due to stress from your job, it’s a serious indicator that it’s time to move on. If your job is making you sick, don’t ignore these signs; it’s much more important to be healthy and happy.
3. You‘re Mentally Checked Out
We all get aevery now and then and we’re not in the mood to work, but it’s a telltale sign it’s time to change jobs when you’re having a hard time concentrating or you spend your workday doing everything but your work. Do you spend your workday daydreaming about or chatting up random coworkers? It’s time to reconsider your options and see what would be more compatible for you.
4. You Feel Stagnant
Do you feel overqualified for youror are stuck doing the same things every day for years? If your workplace doesn’t offer any opportunity to learn new things or promote, it’s a it’s . You probably have an idea of what you want to do career-wise, and if you’re currently at a job that isn’t in line with your plans, think about what you can do to get you closer to your goal.
5. You’re Obsessed with Job Searching
Are you spending your workday on job search websites or applying to jobs? Worse yet, are you applying for jobs that are way below your skill set and pay less than what you make now?! This is one of the more distinctit’s time to quit your job! We all like to keep our options open when it comes to jobs, but if you are constantly online at work looking for open positions and updating your resume and cover letter, it’s time to go!
6. You Don’t like Your Coworkers
Most workplaces have a few troublemakers or people who aren’t easy to work with, but if you find yourself dreading any interaction with your coworkers or wishing you could shoot lasers at them, it’s time to move on from your job. Most people don’t click with their coworkers as they do with friends, but you should be able to have a good working relationship with most of your coworkers. If not, then this is another one of the signs it’s time to quit your job… and find one without so many troublemakers.
Yes, we all dread going to work in the morning, but when you have serious anxiety or shudder at the thought of going to work, it’s unhealthy and a serious warning that it’s time to quit your job. If you’re having physical or emotional reactions to going in to work, it’s very unhealthy and time to call the doctor and update the old resume.
