Paula Deen’s Worst Week: First She Lost Her TV Shows, Now They’re Taking Her Ham (VIDEO)

Keira Lombardo, a spokesperson for pork giant Smithfield, issued the following statement Tuesday: 
“Smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind. Smithfield is determined to be an ethical food industry leader and it is important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned.”
She was referring to the firing of the company’s spokeswoman, Southern cooking star Paula Deen. It’s the latest in the fallout from the revelations last week of Deen using racist language and other insensitivity. 
Smithfield is the flagship of a host of other sponsorships and endorsement deals that Deen currently has, 17 in total accoring to the New York Times. The Food Network, the first to sever ties, announced last week that they wouldn’t renew the contract for Deen’s Food Network cooking shows when they end this month. 

However, all is not lost for Deen: in an oddball twist, Alice Travel, which hosts a Paula Deen celebrity cruise just announced that in response to increased demand, they are doubling the number of cruises with her they’ve planned for 2014.
